Beach Decor

If you want to decorate your space in a beachy, breezy theme try the tips below to make it easy. Remember to keep it simple, uncluttered and light and you can’t go wrong.

Collect shells, starfish and other lake inspired items and place them in containers, on tables or get crafty and decorate mirrors, frames and boxes.

Fill jars and bottles with sand, shells and pebbles. Have them stand alone or place candles or flowers in them for a fresh look.

Use shells to decorate the bathroom.   A large sea shell or glass shell shaped dish make a great soap dish. Shells and starfish in a basket next to the tub with terry towels and loofahs create an instant spa.

Use a variety of textured items such as sisal rugs, baskets, textured throws, and terry towels add a perfect beach décor element.

Use wicker furniture such as chairs and side tables to create a fresh, breezy look. Try painting them in bold colours for even more effect.

Go nautical in a classic way. Use lighthouses, vintage life jackets or old oars to instantly turn any room into a beach side retreat. Blue and white or red and white are the perfect colours to achieve this look. Not ready for obvious nautical? Hang a red and white beach bag on a hook by the door or as a magazine holder instead.
